MOKINA RETURNS WITH ACOUSTIC REIMAGINING OF ‘MIRAGE’
Mokina is back with a stripped-down, acoustic reinterpretation of her recent EP mirage—a shimmering, sunlit companion to the original.
The release includes a bonus track, Talia, a previously unreleased song that pairs poetic lyricism with raw, vulnerable delivery. It serves as a tender coda to the reimagined collection—Mirage as it might sound at golden hour.
Originally released earlier this year, mirage sees the Montreal-born artist exploring the illusions that often cloud romantic relationships. Drawing from her lived experience of wxmanhood, Mokina reflects on the shame and scrutiny wxmen are expected to carry.
“As wxmen, we’re taught to carry shame for things that are simply human—desire, detachment, choosing ourselves. These songs are about normalizing those experiences and letting go of that inner guilt. They hold space for that emotional complexity and say, ‘It’s okay—you’re allowed to feel this.’”
Known for her sun-drenched melodies and poetic touch, Mokina continues to carve out a distinct voice with each new release.
