SPILL TAB UNVEILS SOULFUL NEW SINGLE ‘ASSIS’ AHEAD OF DEBUT ALBUM

LA-based French-Korean artist spill tab (Claire Chicha) delivers Assis, a soulful, funk-infused track blending English and French, offering another glimpse into her upcoming debut album, ANGIE, out May 16 via Because Music. Produced by John Hill (FKA Twigs, Charli XCX) and Solomonophic (SZA, Remi Wolf), the song’s textured soundscapes and layered emotions showcase her evolving artistry.

Describing Assis as a fusion of “a ‘50s Italian film soundtrack and psychedelic rock,” Chicha reflects on the heartbreak of watching love slip away. “You try to reconcile the beautiful, tender moments with the bitter ones, because ultimately, you want no one else,” she shares.

ANGIE promises an eclectic mix of genres, from glitchy hyperpop (Pink Lemonade) to grungy distortion (De Guerre) and euphoric guitar solos on the title track. “These songs feel more honest than anything I’ve created in a long time,” Chicha says. “It’s a culmination of love, loss, rejection, passion, and everything in between.”

With Assis, spill tab continues to push boundaries, setting the stage for what’s shaping up to be one of the year’s most exciting debut albums.
