ALICE PHOEBE LOU SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘BETTER’

Alice Phoebe Lou’s latest single ‘Better’ blends dreamy melodies with her signature honeyed vocals, capturing the untouchable bliss of a new love that may not last. Vintage, nostalgic keys add a warm touch, heightening the sense of cherished but fleeting connections.

“I wrote this song on my childhood piano at my mother's house in one sitting,” shares Alice. “I tapped into my imagination and past experiences of the way I used to idealize someone when I first met them, imagining an unrealistic future and being blind to their faults. Putting someone on a pedestal then makes the fall back to earth even harder, when reality sets in and you realize everything you've projected onto them and that they could never live up to that.”

This release follows July’s single, “The World Above,” a metaphorically rich track about surfacing from underwater, reflecting a sense of renewed hope. Lou’s lyrics grow in confidence amid celestial keys and layered guitars that soar together.

Lou’s fifth album, Shelter, released in summer 2023, centers on “forgiving the world and forgiving yourself” to find inner peace. Originally from South Africa, Lou began busking on the streets of Berlin in 2013, embracing a self-directed, independent lifestyle. Over the years, she’s learned to follow her instincts and create music free from judgment.
