GIIFT UNVEILS SLEEK NEW EP "DESIRES"

Rising songwriter and producer Giift has unveiled her latest project, the six-track EP Desires, blending traditional and contemporary R&B to craft intimate, storytelling-driven soundscapes. The release comes just days before her upcoming London performance at Soho Calling on February 26.

From the first track to the last, Desires offers something for everyone. The high-energy “The Light” serves as an uplifting reminder to embrace authenticity and let go of negativity. Meanwhile, “Clear Your Name pt. 2” takes a more ambiguous approach, with Giift explaining, “It can be a love song, it can be about God, it can be a break-up song. I just wanted it to feel like you’re floating when you listen to it. It’s something everybody can feel and relate to.”

Also featured on the EP is “Pussy,” a bold, unapologetic anthem of self-expression, sexuality, and identity, which Giift first teased last month. Known for her raw, explicit lyricism paired with mesmerizing melodies, she continues to push the boundaries of R&B and neo-soul. Speaking about her evolving sound, she shares, “I wanted my sound to feel more grown. It needs to represent where I am as a young adult. The song is explicit but beautiful, and I’ve always loved songs like that.”

At just 20 years old, Giift has already established herself as one of the most exciting new voices in global music. Her genre-defying approach to songwriting and production has garnered international recognition, including collaborations with heavyweights like Beyoncé, Kehlani, and Arlo Parks.

Her talent has not gone unnoticed. In 2024, Giift received the prestigious Music Moves Europe Award, celebrating emerging talent in the industry. She has also been featured in top publications such as PAPER Magazine, The Sunday Times, and COLORS, and was recently named Songwriter of the Year at the Danish Music Awards, further cementing her status as a trailblazer in contemporary music.

With Desires, Giift solidifies her reputation as a fearless artist shaping the future of R&B—one track at a time.
