SPILL TAB ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM ‘ANGIE’ WITH TITLE TRACK VIDEO
French-Korean singer, songwriter, and producer spill tab (Claire Chicha) has unveiled details of her highly anticipated debut album, ANGIE, alongside a video for the title track. Co-produced by Chicha, John Hill (FKA Twigs, Charli XCX), and Solomonophonic (SZA, Remi Wolf), the lush and textured single premiered on Jack Saunders’ BBC Radio 1 show.
Set for release on May 16 via Because Music, ANGIE spans 12 tracks brimming with creativity and dynamic musicianship. From the glitchy, bass-heavy opener ‘PINK LEMONADE’ to the grungy, French-sung ‘De Guerre’ and euphoric guitar solos of the title track, Chicha explores a range of sonic influences.
“I love this collection of songs deeply,” she shares. “They feel more honest than anything I’ve made in a long time. I’m proud of the countless hours spent writing, producing, refining harmonies, and collaborating with incredible artists. This album captures love, loss, rejection, and passion—moments from the past few years of my life.”
Since her breakout single ‘Decompose,’ Chicha has released three EPs: Oatmilk (2020), the playful Bonnie (2021) featuring Gus Dapperton and Tommy Genesis, and Klepto (2023), a sonically intricate project blending jazz freakouts and guitar-driven thumps. Onstage, her high-energy performances have landed her opening spots for Sabrina Carpenter’s North American tour and an Australian run with Wallows.
Chicha crafted ANGIE alongside a tight-knit group of LA-based collaborators, including David Marinelli, Wyatt and Austin, and John DeBold. The album freely traverses musical styles, from the bossa nova charm of ‘Hold Me’ to the earthy funk of ‘Assis’ and the moody electronic layers of ‘Doesn’t That Scare You.’ With ANGIE, spill tab fully embraces her artistic instincts—delivering a rich, immersive listening experience.
