LEDI SHARES DEBUT EP ‘SHE’S 24’
Today marks the release of She’s 24, the debut EP from London-based Indonesian singer-songwriter LEDI. The project introduces her unique sound—a seamless fusion of R&B, soul, bossa nova, pop, and jazz influences—through five tracks that explore the highs and lows of navigating life in her mid-20s.
Featuring two new singles, “Nothing New Under The Sun” and “Who I Was,” the EP offers a striking first glimpse into LEDI’s artistry. The focus single, “Nothing New Under The Sun,” produced by fellow jazz-infused artist James Berkeley, pairs LEDI’s soulful, velvety vocals with heartfelt reflections on fleeting romance and the cyclical nature of love.
“I was seeing someone and had this familiar feeling from the start that it wasn’t going to last,” LEDI shares. “It really affected me because I’d been through it before. The phrase ‘nothing new under the sun’ is a reminder that these things are part of life’s cycle. Even if it doesn’t last, you learn and move on.”
The EP opener, “Who I Was,” is equally introspective, showcasing LEDI’s lyrical storytelling and stunning alto delivery. Remarkably, it was the first complete song she ever wrote, born from seeing an ex-partner for the first time since their breakup. “I realized I didn’t like who I was when I was with him,” she explains. “Writing this track marked the start of a journey of healing and self-discovery.”
The title track, “She’s 24,” released earlier this year, captures the shimmering euphoria of the high points in her coming-of-age years. It serves as a reminder to embrace joy whenever possible.
With its broad genre influences and deeply personal themes, She’s 24 is a testament to LEDI’s talent and versatility. A blend of timeless and contemporary elements, the EP offers a compelling snapshot of an artist whose authenticity and passion defy categorization.
