PHOEBE GREEN RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘PRECIOUS THINGS’
Manchester’s rising star Phoebe Green returns today with her compelling new single, “Precious Things,” alongside the announcement of a headline UK tour set for April 2025. The track offers a bold step forward in her artistry, blending introspection and levity while teasing a new project expected next year.
“Precious Things” delves into the duality of romantic infatuation, juxtaposing its playful, almost unsettling verses with a deeply emotional, sacrificial chorus. Produced by Green herself in the intimate settings of her Manchester flat and her family home in Lytham St Annes, the track signals a confident evolution in her sound.
Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Green shared: “I wanted to explore the obsessive, almost fan-like behavior we can exhibit in relationships. I love the combination of uncomfortable yet comedic lyrics when expressing love. The verses have this nursery rhyme-like cheerfulness that masks the deeper meaning, while the chorus is fully heart-on-sleeve yearning, with big synthy choral sounds reflecting that vulnerability.”
Building on the raw honesty that marked her Ask Me Now EP, released earlier this year, Green’s forthcoming material promises to reveal an even deeper layer of self-expression. “This new music is just very me,” she reflects. “I’ve been listening to artists like Imogen Heap, St. Vincent, Caroline Rose, Charli XCX, and Chappell Roan, but I wouldn’t say I’ve drawn from any one place intentionally. I’ve enjoyed experimenting with bigger pop choruses, something I’ve shied away from in the past. Vulnerability is the focal point—I mean what I say, and if one day I don’t feel the same, I’ll embrace that too because every moment of conviction is real.”
Produced and mixed by Ric Levy, “Precious Things” is the first taste of Green’s next chapter, blending raw emotion with lush, experimental soundscapes. As she prepares to take the track and more on the road next year, her artistic trajectory remains one to watch.
