TIIVA RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM ‘YOU AND I’
Today, artist and producer Tiiva drops their debut album You and I — a bold fusion of hyperpop textures and ambient field recordings that explores themes of connection, acceptance, and surviving the digital age.
The seven-track release invites listeners into Tiiva’s vivid sonic universe, where reflections on technology meet a deep yearning for human intimacy. Standout track Obsessed draws inspiration from using ChatGPT as a form of therapy. “It’s influenced by Ex Machina. A fragile, disenchanted person struggles with identity, and the computer falls in love with them through online interaction.”
On Sleep Better, Tiiva turns a critical eye toward AI’s growing role in our lives. “This song is for the human connections and romances we crave. Replacing human touch with a machine feels impossible, so we try to hold onto both realities.”
Nature also plays a grounding role. Pink and Gold, written during a residency in Ireland, meditates on the tension and harmony between the natural world and technology.
Closing track Crowd offers a dreamy dancefloor ode to community and belonging. “It’s for my friends who carried me. It’s about being accepted as queer, non-binary, and neurodivergent — and loving without judgment.”
